Following the success of last season, the Teatro Espa\u00f1ol<\/strong> is once again betting this season on two titles that marked the previous programming and which are now returning after the excellent reception they received from the public. Luces de bohemia, <\/em><\/strong>by Ram\u00f3n Mar\u00eda del Valle-Incl\u00e1n,<\/strong> and Cumplea\u00f1os,<\/em><\/strong> by Luisa Carn\u00e9s,<\/strong> are restored at this beginning of 2026, following the artistic line of the theater to give continuity to proposals that have demonstrated their validity, relevance and connection with the spectators.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Luces de bohemia<\/em> returns to the Sala Principal after the success of last season, which commemorated the centenary of the final edition of the work in 1924. Considered the most important piece of Valle-Incl\u00e1n and the text with which it inaugurates the genre of the sperpento, the work recounts the nocturnal journey of the blind poet Max Estrella y Latino de H\u00edspalis through a deformed, poetic and fiercely critical Madrid. A lucid satire on social injustice and political corruption that, since its premiere, has shown an extraordinary ability to dialogue with the present.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This revival also responds to the exceptional reception that the show had among the public and professionals, becoming one of the milestones of the previous season, in which she was awarded the Silver Frame Award for Best Theatre Actor for Gin\u00e9s Garc\u00eda Mill\u00e1n and the ADE Director\u2019s Award for Eduardo Vasco. In this new stage, the work returns to the stage with Gin\u00e9s Garc\u00eda Mill\u00e1n <\/strong>and Antonio Molero <\/strong>as protagonists and a renewed cast that incorporates new interpretations and nuances to the proposal, keeping the spirit of the montage intact. The play can be seen until next 7 March, at 19 hours, in the Main Hall of the Teatro Espa\u00f1ol, with a duration of approximately 120 minutes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cumplea\u00f1os,<\/em> by Luisa Carn\u00e9s,<\/strong> also returns after the great reception of last season. Written in 1966 and premiered for the first time at the Teatro Espa\u00f1ol, Cumplea\u00f1os anticipates with enormous lucidity themes that are still fully valid: the oppression of gender, the invisibility of the female body outside the male gaze and the conflict between identity, desire and social mandate. Carn\u00e9s’ text, recovered and revalued in recent years, now returns to the stage in an intimate format that underlines its emotional power and contemporary dimension.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Starring Mamen Camacho,<\/strong> the play places the viewer before Eva, a woman who, on the eve of her birthday, faces her fears, the void and the difficulty of recognizing herself within a model of life marked by marriage, the passage of time and social expectations.
