The Fundaci\u00f3n Casa de M\u00e9xico<\/strong> organizes and promotes tastings of Mexican spirits<\/strong> such as tequila and mezcal, aimed at spreading the culture, flavors and tradition of these drinks, offering sensory experiences that explain their origin, artisanal processes and cultural significance, as part of their food events.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As part of the celebration of Fitur 2026, tastings to immerse yourself in the art of tasting and learn about the artisanal processes that make these distillates a symbol of our culture will take place on the dates:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tequila tasting:<\/strong> 30 January, 27 February, 27 March, 29 May, 26 June and 24 July. Mezcal tasting:<\/strong> 13 February, 10 April, 15 May, 12 June and 10 July. Beer tasting:<\/strong> 13 March and 24 April. The schedule of all these tastings will be from 18.30 to 21 hours.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tequila is one of the most internationally recognized and important Mexican drinks, as well as its main ingredient; agave, was declared in 2006 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It is believed that the origin of tequila was due to a thunderstorm in which lightning hit an agave field and the fire caused a kind of sweet honey to overflow, this resulted in the peasants taking it as a gift from the gods, producing it for years as we know it today. Tequila besides being present in the best celebrations, has analgesic properties that help for sore throats or cure flu, and agave is mainly used to heal wounds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mezcal is one of the most emblematic drinks in Mexico, with a history dating back to pre-Hispanic times. Its artisanal production, based on the cooking of agaves in stone kilns under the ground, gives it its characteristic smoky taste and a unique depth of nuances.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to tradition, mezcal is a sacred elixir, considered a gift from the gods and a link with the earth.
