Tomorrow, Thursday at 6pm, the Embassy of Ecuador<\/strong> celebrates in the Iberia Room of Casa Am\u00e9rica<\/strong> the International Migrant Day,<\/em><\/strong> and does it with cinema, after a year full of successes in celluloid.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This 2025 has marked a milestone in the history of Ecuador. On the one hand, we commemorate 25 years of the beginning of the Ecuadorian migration to Spain, and on the other hand this has been a great year for the country\u2019s audiovisual sector: it won the award for Best Screenplay with the film Hiedra,<\/em> by Ana Cristina Barrag\u00e1n,<\/strong> at the Venice Film Festival; the animated short El extra\u00f1o caso del hombre bala, <\/em>by Beto Val\u00e8ncia,<\/strong> has established itself as the most awarded short in Latin America; the film Los Ahogados,<\/em> by Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Jacome <\/strong>and V\u00edctor Mares,<\/strong> has been nominated to represent Ecuador at the Goya awards, among others…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For this reason, the celebration of this year\u2019s International Migrant Day is of particular importance to this Embassy and its migrant community, to which we want to pay tribute through audiovisual productions that reflect the cultural wealth and legacy of Ecuadorian artists and chefs in the diaspora.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
