The Stift Festival Orchestra,<\/strong> from the Netherlands, directed by the Brit Daniel Rowland<\/strong> (pictured), returns to Madrid on Sunday 14 December in a unique and exciting concert at the Teatro Gran V\u00eda,<\/strong> 21 hours, entitled Vive Vivaldi<\/em><\/strong> with this tribute to the Venetian composer through works by the main composers of the 21st century: Max Richter <\/strong>and Philip Glass.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In concert, the acclaimed Recomposed: Vivaldi – The Four Seasons,<\/em><\/strong> a work that redefined an icon of baroque music. Written by one of the most influential composers of the 21st century: the German Max Richter,<\/strong> who fused classical music, electronics and minimalism, and has been heard by millions around the world. The program is completed by the beautiful Tenebrae,<\/em><\/strong> by Osvaldo Golijov<\/strong> (several Grammy awards) and Las Cuatro estaciones americanas: Concierto para viol\u00edn, no2 <\/em><\/strong>by Philip Glass,<\/strong> known as the “American Vivaldi”.<\/p>\n

Strings, winds, harp and keyboard from the best solo talents from the Netherlands and Great Britain, who are part of this vibrant orchestra, with two decades of existence and founded by Rowland to enjoy an overwhelming concert.<\/p>\n

The spirit of the Venetian master is projected beyond his time: from the atmosphere of the eighteenth century to the cultural sensibility of the present, where pop aesthetics, urban energy and the rhythmic drive of electronic and club music coexist. The result is a vibrant, captivating and emotionally addictive sound diptych that connects generations and renews the way of listening to an immortal classic.<\/p>\n

The program is led by Daniel Rowland, a charismatic and virtuous performer whose violin direction brings an explosive mix of precision, risk and expressiveness. The Stift Festival Orchestra, renowned for its dynamism and contemporary approach, completes a training that this year celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Stift Festival, an international reference for its innovative spirit.
