The Fundaci\u00f3n Euroam\u00e9rica<\/strong> and the European Union,<\/strong> in collaboration with Casa de Am\u00e9rica,<\/strong> organize the Seminar: After the IV CELAC-EU Summit in Santa Marta. Results achieved and objectives to be met,<\/em><\/strong> which will take place tomorrow Thursday at 15.30 hours in the Gabriela Mistral Amphitheater of Casa de Am\u00e9rica (entrance by C\/ Marqu\u00e9s del Duero, 2), ending with a cocktail.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Participation is free, but registration is required by click here.<\/strong> <\/a>Following the registration of participants, Le\u00f3n de la Torre,<\/strong> director of Casa de Am\u00e9rica, will give a welcome speech at the opening by Ant\u00f3nio Costa,<\/strong> president of the European Council (online); Ram\u00f3n J\u00e1uregui,<\/strong> president of the Euro-American Foundation; and Pelayo Castro,<\/strong> Deputy Director-General for the Americas of the European External Action Service (EEAS).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Manuel Albares,<\/strong> Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, and Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio,<\/strong> Minister of Foreign Relations of Colombia (online) will also speak.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The session entitled Opportunities for business on both sides will take place at 4.10 p.m. Investments in strategic sectors. Agenda de Inversones Global Gateway, <\/em><\/strong>with the introduction of Alcia Montalvo,<\/strong> Manager of Climate Action and Positive Biodiversity of Caf – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean; Luis Jim\u00e9nez-McInnis,<\/strong> representative of the Inter-American Development Bank – IDB in Europe, and F\u00e9lix Fern\u00e1ndez-Shaw,<\/strong> director for Latin America and the Caribbean, D.G. International Associations, European Commission.<\/p>\n

Critical raw materials value chains<\/em><\/strong> will then be discussed, with the intervention of Fernando J. Ciacera,<\/strong> National Director of Value Chain and Mining Economy, Ministry of Mining of Argentina (online), as well as Connection of networks – regional electricity markets,<\/em><\/strong> Beatriz Corredor,<\/strong> president of REDEIA. We will continue with the topic Investment in quality digital infrastructure,<\/em><\/strong> at which will speak Miguel \u00c1ngel Panduro,<\/strong> CEO of Hispasat; followed by Circular Economy<\/em><\/strong> (sargazo), with \u00d3scar Rossbach,<\/strong> Director General Mexico of Dutch Clean Tech (online), to conclude with European Union Financing,<\/em><\/strong> with Mar\u00eda Romano,<\/strong> Director of the Office of the European Investment Bank-EIB in Spain.<\/p>\n

At 17.40 hours, the session Launch of the OECD Report: “Assessment of the socio-economic impact of Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on European investments”<\/em><\/strong> will be held, which will be introduced by F\u00e9lix Fern\u00e1ndez-Shaw,<\/strong> Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, D.G. International Partnerships, European Commission; Ragnhei\u00f0 ur El\u00edn \u00c1rnad\u00f3ttir, <\/strong>Director of the OECD Development Centre; and Ant\u00f3nio Gomes,<\/strong> Deputy Director of the Directorate for Finance and Business, OECD.<\/p>\n

The event will close at 6 p.m., with a session entitled Where relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean should be heading,<\/em><\/strong> to which Josep Borrell,<\/strong> High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will extend an invitation, and Vice-President of the European Commission (2019-2024), in conversation with Ram\u00f3n J\u00e1uregui,<\/strong> President of the Fundaci\u00f3n Euroam\u00e9rica, and Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Salafranca<\/strong>, First Vice-President of the Fundaci\u00f3n Euroam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n
