The new regional balance of power imposed by Israel following the Hamas terrorist attack on 7 October 2023 is leading to profound changes and a repositioning of neighbouring countries such as Egypt, Turkey, the Gulf powers, Iran, Lebanon or Syria. The Trump Plan could encourage the adoption of a truce that partially alleviates the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and stops the massacre of civilians. However, this does not guarantee an end to the Israeli military occupation, nor a political horizon based on a two-State solution, or a stable horizon of wider regional peace. There are many open questions that affect the region and the answer that other actors such as the European Union or Spain itself can give.<\/p>\n
