On the occasion of the festivities of the Day of the Dead and in the framework of the 70th anniversary of the publication of Pedro P\u00e1ramo,<\/em><\/strong> by Juan Rulfo, Casa de Am\u00e9rica <\/strong>presents this afternoon at 19 hours in the Sala Iberia the feature film Pedro P\u00e1ramo,<\/em><\/strong> directed by Rodrigo Prieto<\/strong> and inspired by the homonymous novel of the great Mexican writer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This film version of the emblematic novel of magical realism and Mexican literature, presented in collaboration with the Instituto Cultural de M\u00e9xico<\/strong> and the Embassy of Mexico<\/strong>, is the first film directed by Rodrigo Prieto, Known for his solid background as a cinematographer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The film tells the story of a man who is in search of his father, named Pedro P\u00e1ramo, in a village condemned by violence and the fury of a frustrated love. Follow a dusty road to a village of death. Time passes from one consciousness to another in a hypnotic flow of dreams, desires and memories, a world of ghosts dominated by the figure of Pedro P\u00e1ramo, lover, lord, murderer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The projection is carried out with the support of the Secretariat of Foreign Relations of the Government of Mexico, <\/strong>through the Head of Unit for Intersectoral Coordination (JUCI)<\/strong> and the General Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy, <\/strong>and the company Netflix.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Will welcome to the event Teresa Zacarias Figueroa,<\/strong> minister and cultural attach\u00e9 of Mexico in Spain, and director of the Instituto Cultural de M\u00e9xico in Spain.
