In Brussels, von der Leyen and Zelensky will lead a videoconference of the Coalition of the Willing to coordinate positions ahead of the meeting in Washington. The aim is to arrive with a common message on political, military, and financial support for Kyiv, as well as on the framework for possible security guarantees.<\/p>\n
After their meeting, the two issued a statement stressing that peace must be based on \u201csolid security guarantees\u201d and that \u201cinternational borders cannot be changed by force.\u201d The President also emphasized that \u201cthere can be no limits on the Ukrainian armed forces or on their cooperation with third countries,\u201d and that Russia \u201ccannot veto\u201d Ukraine\u2019s European and Atlantic path.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow, von der Leyen will accompany Zelensky to the White House to take part in the meeting with Trump and other European leaders.
