On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the enthronement of HRH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Principality’s Ambassador to Spain, Catherine Fautrier-Rousseau, hosted a reception at her residence in Madrid, which brought together a large representation of the accredited diplomatic corps, as well as prominent business leaders, institutional representatives, and cultural figures.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

During her speech, the ambassador paid tribute to the leadership of the Monegasque sovereign, particularly in the areas of sustainability and international cooperation through the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Since its creation in 2006, this foundation has become a global player in the fight against climate change, the protection of biodiversity, and the promotion of sustainable development, with active projects on five continents.<\/p>\n

One of the most relevant moments of the speech was the reference to the recent international recognition obtained by the Principality in terms of financial transparency. The ambassador explained that Monaco had recently received a positive evaluation by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), removing it from the so-called “grey list,” which includes countries with strategic deficiencies in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.<\/p>\n

This achievement, Fautrier-Rousseau emphasized, is the result of a sustained effort by the Monegasque government to strengthen its regulatory framework, fully cooperate with international organizations, and align itself with the standards of the global financial system. This is a clear sign of Monaco’s commitment to legality, stability, and international financial integrity.<\/p>\n
