{"id":113319,"date":"2025-04-04T06:00:49","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T04:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/?p=113319"},"modified":"2025-04-03T16:56:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T14:56:36","slug":"doble-programa-en-el-teatro-de-la-zarzuela-el-bateo-y-la-revoltosa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/en\/2025\/04\/04\/doble-programa-en-el-teatro-de-la-zarzuela-el-bateo-y-la-revoltosa\/","title":{"rendered":"Double program at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, &#8216;El Bateo&#8217; and &#8216;La Revoltosa&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Teatro de la Zarzuela<\/strong> presents from 9 to 27 April a new stage proposal that combines <strong><em>El Bateo,<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Federico Chueca,<\/strong> with libretto by <strong>Antonio Paso<\/strong> and <strong>Antonio Dom\u00ednguez,<\/strong> and <strong><em>La Revoltosa,<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Ruperto Chap\u00ed,<\/strong> with texts by<strong> Jos\u00e9 L\u00f3pez Silva <\/strong>and<strong> Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez Shaw.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This double function is an interesting contrast with the one in charge of the production, the musical director <strong>\u00d3liver D\u00edaz<\/strong> and the stage director <strong>Juan Echanove,<\/strong> which allow the viewer to reflect on the perception of the short lyric genre since the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The interest aroused by this combination of talents, which is even greater if one takes into account that both works (which next November will be 124 and 128 years old respectively) have not been on the stage of Teresa Berganza\u2019s square for almost two decades, has made very few <a href=\"https:\/\/entradasinaem.es\/ficha-espectaculo\/7\/936\/el-bateo-la-revoltosa&amp;promo=webTZ\"><strong>entries<\/strong> <\/a>available for the 15 programmed functions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The contrast between both works is magical.
