{"id":106536,"date":"2025-01-24T06:04:10","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T05:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/?p=106536"},"modified":"2025-01-23T18:15:04","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T17:15:04","slug":"la-embajada-de-lituania-muestra-las-maravillas-del-pais-del-este-europeo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/en\/2025\/01\/24\/la-embajada-de-lituania-muestra-las-maravillas-del-pais-del-este-europeo\/","title":{"rendered":"The Embassy of Lithuania shows the wonders of the East European country"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>Juan David Latorre<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nature and active tourism, Wellness, Culture and history <\/strong>and<strong> Business<\/strong> are the four pillars on which the description of tourism by the Lithuanian ambassador, <strong>Lyra Pui\u0161yt\u0117-Bostroem,<\/strong> gave last Wednesday a group of tour operators and travel agencies at the <strong>Hotel Villa Real<\/strong> in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Lithuanian ambassador was present at the event, together with the deputy minister of economy and innovation, responsible for tourism, <strong>Agila Barzdien\u00e9,<\/strong> who has only been in office for two weeks since the Lithuanian government changed recently. The Lithuanian policy highlighted the huge and varied resources of the country\u2019s tourism and congratulated the ambassador Pui\u0161yt\u0117-Bostroem for the realization of the event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In her description, the ambassador noted that tourism in Lithuania &#8220;has improved a lot, considering the geopolitical situation we live. Everything except connectivity. <strong>We need connectivity between Madrid and Vilnius,<\/strong> which we do not have at present&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As for the nature of the country, the ambassador stressed that &#8220;we have beach, we have many rivers, many lakes and our jewel of the Crown, <strong>the isthmus of Courland,<\/strong> with virgin beaches of blue flag and dunes protected by UNESCO, fishing villages of historical interest, 70 km of forest and coastal bike paths and a unique and diverse avifauna&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Lithuanian capital, <strong>Vilnius,<\/strong> declared European Green Capital 2025, &#8220;has the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, baroque and gothic churches, museums and galleries, a classical cathedral, hot-air balloon rides, culinary adventures, a wide range of cosy caf\u00e9s and bars, and a fairytale castle in Trakai&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kaunas,<\/strong> the country\u2019s second largest city and home of Lithuanian sport, offers, according to the Lithuanian ambassador, &#8220;Modernist architecture -also a UNESCO World Heritage Site- vibrant street art, the MK Ciurlionis Art Museum, the Zalgiris Arena, gastronomic adventures and also a varied air offer cozy cafes and bars.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, as for the city of <strong>Klaip\u00e9da,<\/strong> Lyra Pui\u0161yt\u0117-Bostroem pointed out that it offers &#8220;the ferry terminal for day trips to <strong>Kursiu Nerija,<\/strong> easy access to blue flag beaches, marina and newly developed waterfront, distinctive architecture Fachwork and museums and galleries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tourist event ended not without first highlighting the event to be celebrated this year in Lithuania, the 150th anniversary of the painter and composer <strong>Mikalojus Konstantinas \u010ciurlionis,<\/strong> together with the <strong>Uzgavien\u00e9s<\/strong> (Day of Tortita and Mardi de Carnaval), the <strong>Fair of San Casimiro<\/strong> in March\u00a0 (crafts and food from the whole region), the <strong>Summer Solstice Festival<\/strong> (23-24 July), the <strong>Klaipeda Sea Festival <\/strong>-a great three-day maritime festival also in July- and the <strong>Christmas Markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure
