The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has regretted the death of at least 38 people as a result of the accident of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed this Sunday near the city of Aktau, in Kazakhstan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe regret the death of at least 38 passengers and crew members of the Azerbaijani plane that crashed yesterday in Kazakhstan,\u201d declared the Department headed by Jos\u00e9 Manuel Albares through social networks.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll our solidarity with the victims and their families and a speedy recovery for the almost 30 injured,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred after the plane, flying from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to the capital of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Grozny, crashed three kilometres from the airport in the city of Aktau on the Caspian Sea.<\/p>\n

Just two hours after taking off, the plane requested permission for an emergency landing, but was diverted first to Makhachkala in Russian Dagestan and then to Aktau because of thick fog in Grozny.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
