{"id":100773,"date":"2024-11-15T06:03:55","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T05:03:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/?p=100773"},"modified":"2024-11-14T21:16:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T20:16:53","slug":"industrial-production-in-spain-rose-by-0-9-in-september-while-it-fell-by-2-across-the-eu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/en\/2024\/11\/15\/industrial-production-in-spain-rose-by-0-9-in-september-while-it-fell-by-2-across-the-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"Industrial production in Spain rose by 0.9% in September while it fell by 2% across the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>Julio Garc\u00eda<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Industrial production rose by 0.9% in Spain in September 2024, compared to August of this year, and by 0.6% compared to September 2023, according to the first estimates of Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the euro area and EU level, Eurostat estimates indicate that seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 2.0% in September 2024, compared to August 2024, both in the euro area and in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2024, industrial production grew by 1.5% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the EU .<\/p>\n<p>In September 2024, compared with September 2023, industrial production decreased by 2.8% in the euro area and by 2.4% in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>MONTHLY COMPARISON BY MAIN INDUSTRIAL GROUPS AND BY STATES<\/p>\n<p>In the euro area in September 2024 compared with August 2024, industrial production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>remained stable for intermediate goods,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 1.5% for energy,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 3.8% for capital goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 0.5% for durable consumer goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 1.6% for non-durable consumer goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the EU, industrial production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>decreased by 0.1% for intermediate goods,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 1.6% for energy,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 3.2% for capital goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 0.3% for durable consumer goods,increased by 0.5% for non-durable consumer goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The largest monthly declines were recorded in Ireland (-10.7%), Denmark (-5%) and the Netherlands (-2.9%). The largest increases were seen in Croatia (+5%), Portugal (+2.7%) and Slovenia (+1.6%). In Spain the figure is for an increase of 0.9%.<\/p>\n<p>ANNUAL COMPARISON BY MAIN INDUSTRIAL GROUPS AND BY MEMBER STATE<\/p>\n<p>In the euro area in September 2024, compared with September 2023, industrial production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>decreased by 2.6% for intermediate goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 1.9% for energy,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 6.4% for capital goods,<\/li>\n<li>decreased by 1.7% for durable consumer goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 4.8% for non-durable consumer goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the EU, industrial production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>decreased by 2.5% for intermediate goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 1.4% for energy,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>decreased by 5.6% for capital goods,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>decreased by 1.5% for durable consumer goods,<\/li>\n<li>increased by 4.5% for non-durable consumer goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The largest year-on-year decreases were recorded in Ireland (-7.3%), Luxembourg (-6.3%) and Hungary (-5.3%). The largest increases were seen in Denmark (+7.8%), Belgium (+6.0%) and Lithuania (+3.5%).
