The government of Hungary is sending 20,000 euros in emergency aid to victims of the regions of Spain affected by the floods and will fund a search and rescue team of Hungarian volunteers, said last Saturday Tristan Azbej, Secretary of State, who runs the government programme Hungary Aid.
Tristan Azbej noted that the government was “shocked” to learn of the disaster in Valencia, where flash floods have killed more than 200 people and “damage is very difficult to estimate”. “We hope to help save lives and mitigate the damage. Our Spanish friends can count on us,” said Azbej.
