This Tuesday and Wednesday, Costa Rica will host the ‘II Regional Meeting Por Talento Latinoamérica’ in the capital, San José, where representatives of companies and institutions from six countries will meet to check the progress of this project in the vocational training and hiring of people with disabilities.
Personalities from the member organizations of the Advisory Board of ‘Por Talento Latinoamérica’ will participate in this meeting: International Labor Organization (ILO); Ibero-American Social Security Organization (OISS); the International Disability Alliance (IDA); the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, together with the national leaders and coordinators of each country.
These two days have the purpose of continuing to build together and advance in the common objective of promoting the employability of people with disabilities in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay.
The event, which will also be attended by representatives of the IDB Lab and the ONCE Foundation as promoters of the project, will serve especially to strengthen and consolidate ties and reinforce the commitment to labor inclusion and the improvement of society in their countries of origin. The current challenges for the employability of people with disabilities in the region will also be analyzed with the purpose of providing a better response to the problems and barriers they face in their respective countries.
