The Ministry of Culture of Taiwan and the Economic and Cultural Office of Taipei in Spain in collaboration with PROYECTOR Festival de Videoarte, present at Réplika Teatro (calle de la Explanada, 14, Madrid) The Zone, an interactive performance by the Taipei-based collective Juicy Berry Studio under the direction of Tzu Chieh- Hsue in collaboration with dancer Livier Tu.
The Zone seeks to provoke reflections on the relationship between the individual and the hyperconnected global society. Through the use of their mobile phones, participants will be able to interact with their digital counterparts and make decisions that respond to current societal issues. The choices and responses of participants also represent individual expressions or silences when faced with social problems and ethical or moral decisions, thus revealing invisible landscapes within society.
As they move through space, various instructions and information will appear on the mobile phone and, through this experience, the audience will understand the narratives and the past of various characters in society. At the same time, the mobile phone will also collect audience data, allowing them to become part of the performance. As the public interacts and makes decisions, they will complete the whole work.
The 20-minute sessions will be held on 14 and 15 September from 17 to 20 hours in Réplika Theatre by prior registration at the following link.
