This afternoon at 7 pm, the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain (calle Zurbano, 3) presents in its Screening Room the documentary Santuario, with the subsequent meeting with the director, Álvaro Longoria, Green Ray Prize 2024, actor Carlos Bardem and Eva Saldaña, executive director of Greenpeace.
Brothers Carlos and Javier Bardem star in this documentary that reflects the story of how to create the largest marine sanctuary on earth, in the Southern Ocean. During the screening, the Bardem, spokesmen for the Antarctic Sanctuary campaign, are accompanied in their struggle to obtain the popular support necessary to launch this initiative. Achieving this small victory in the fight to save the environment in the last untouched area of the planet is not an easy task. The protagonists will be accompanied on their journey aboard the Arctic Sunrise. The viewer will witness how science, politics and social media combine to get almost 3 million people to support this initiative that ultimately depends on a political decision.
