The diplomat Ana Flor Alburquerque will be the new deputy director general of official trips and visits, ceremonial and orders, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to what The Diplomat learned from diplomatic sources.
Ana Flor Alburquerque will fill the vacancy left by Christian Celdrán, who has been assigned to the Spanish Embassy in the Holy See.
The person who will be the second ambassador introducer was until now the second in command at the Spanish Embassy in Singapore and was already assigned to Protocol at the beginning of her career, in 2009. She has also been in Libya, Algeria and the United Nations (New York).
The arrival of Ana Flor Alburquerque will take place shortly after the new general director of Protocol and ambassador introducer, Adrián Martín Couce, was appointed, replacing María Sebastián de Erice. In the space of a few months, the Protocol Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have been completely renovated, since Raúl Muñoz also joined the office in May as Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replacing Carlos Lucini
