The Diplomat
The Australian ambassador to Spain, Sophia McIntyre, left her position in Madrid this Monday, where she arrived four years ago and where she has carried out an intense task.
Sophia McIntyre will be replaced in the role by Rosemary Morris-Castico, who was currently Deputy Secretary of the European Union Section at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Rosemary Morris-Castico was already stationed a few years ago at the Australian Embassy in Spain, where she acted for some time as Chargé d’Affaires, just as she did at the Embassy in Mexico. Likewise, she has been stationed at the Australian Embassy in the United States and has been responsible for the Gulf Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Yesterday, the current ambassador thanked the work of the Embassy staff on her social network account X, and recently she participated in a farewell event at the Spain-Australia Council Foundation.
