As part of its Summer 2024 programme Frecuencia Sonora. Rock Eme Equis, tomorrow Thursday at 7pm, the Fundación Casa de México presents the artist, actress, filmmaker, researcher and performer Julia de Castro (in the photo) in concert in its multi-purpose hall, with the presence of the artist Lina de Sol.
Frecuencia Sonora. Rock Eme Equis is a cycle that unites the talent of emerging and consolidated artists and groups to propose a programme rich in a variety of genres and musical fusions.
Julia de Castro released her first solo album in 2020, La historiadora, a transitional album whose recording began in 2016 in Tucson (Arizona), continued in Rome and ended in Mexico City in 2019, always under the guidance of producer Camilo Lara, also known as Instituto Mexicano del Sonido (IMS). Julia de Castro defines La historiadora as a “memorabilia” of those four years of continuous displacement; an eclectic album where genres follow one another without prejudice. The title refers not only to her degree in Art History, but also to the artist’s ability to musically narrate all the relevant events.
For her part, Lina de Sol is an artist originally from Vigo, Galicia, who from a very young age was clear that she would dedicate herself to art, cultivating painting, writing and the audiovisual world, but it was not until she was 16 that she knew that her passion was music. In 2019 she was awarded a scholarship by Berklee, attending its intensive five-week programme in Boston.
