Next Saturday at 9 p.m., Casa Árabe in Madrid is presenting two performances in its garden, by the Moroccan musicians Jubantouja and Req Teq.
This event will take place on the occasion of the presentation of the Iwa Fest 2024 Festival of Diversity and Contemporary Culture in Madrid. This festival, with which Casa Árabe has been collaborating since last year, will be presented in Madrid as an appetizer to the full programme to be held in Melilla in October. The Moroccan band Jubantouja will be performing for the first time in Madrid from the Atlas Mountains with their independent rock. Also from Morocco comes Req Teq, a multi-instrumentalist producer, composer and DJ, who will offer a journey from Moroccan tribal rhythms with Afro tinges to groovy.
In addition to the presentation and the concerts scheduled in Madrid, Iwa Fest and Casa Árabe will sign a collaboration protocol that will give a boost to the already established de facto collaboration between the two organisations.
The third edition of the Iwafest festival will be held on 4 and 5 October in Melilla as a space for the confluence of cultural manifestations around the Mediterranean, in which film, literature and music will coexist. This year’s musical programme includes performances by Baiuca, Gaye Su Akyol, Imarhan and Lala Tamar. Advance ticket sales are available at iwafest.com and the Wegow platform.
