This past Tuesday, the Council of Ministers authorized a voluntary contribution from Spain to the Global Crisis Response Group on Food, Energy and Finance through the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), for an amount of 1,500. 000 euros in fiscal year 2024.
The Global Crisis Response Group on food, energy and finance was created in 2022 by the United Nations to respond to concerns about the possible consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the continued effects of the pandemic. It aims to develop coordinated solutions to these correlated crises (food, energy and finance) in collaboration with governments, international financial institutions and other key partners to help the most vulnerable countries avoid a large-scale crisis.
