On Saturday 15 June at 6 p.m., in the Pabellón CaixaBank at the Madrid Book Fair, there will be an event in tribute to the writer Julio Cortázar, entitled La escritura por knock-out (Writing by knock-out).
‘The novel always wins on points, while the short story must win by knock-out’, said Julio Cortázar, whether as a nod to his own work or to his love of boxing.
The Madrid Book Fair pays tribute to Cortázar on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first publication of Rayuela, the counter-novel par excellence that has invited -and continues to invite- to play. The writer Benjamín Prado and the actress and playwright Clara Sanchis will talk about the work of the Argentinian author, followed by a dramatised reading of the story Torito, by the boxer and actor Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martínez. The event will be moderated by Andrea Stefanoni.
