The Council of Ministers yesterday approved the granting of a maximum credit of 19 million euros to the Republic of Rwanda, from the Fund for the Promotion of Development (FONPRODE), for the financing of the Project to Promote the Competitiveness of Agro-Exports (PSAC) of small farmers.
The overall objective of the PSAC is to support the inclusion of the rural poor in export-oriented value chains, increasing their climate-resilient productive capacity and market access.
In this same Council, the payment of up to 445,000 US dollars to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), charged to FONPRODE, was also authorized for the preparation and supervision of the aforementioned project. This credit operation is the second from FONPRODE that is presented for Rwanda, both operations co-financed with IFAD.
