CentroCentro shows ‘Notre-Dame de Paris. The augmented exhibition’

From tomorrow until 14 July, the CentroCentro cultural space presents the exhibition Notre-Dame de Paris on its first floor. The augmented exhibition, which uncovers the history of this French Gothic masterpiece from its origins in the 12th century, through its 850 magnificent years of history, to its meticulous restoration after the devastating fire of 2019.

 

Visitors can walk through the exhibition equipped with a HistoPad tablet and scan the 21 “doors of time” to embark on an interactive journey through time and history, including the lavish wedding of King Henri IV, the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte and the 19th century construction of the iconic spire of Notre-Dame by Viollet-le-Duc, tragically destroyed by fire.

 

The exhibition brings to life the artistry, artistry and vision of its architects, craftsmen and builders over the centuries, as well as the experts who are now restoring it to its former splendour.

 

The reconstructions on the HistoPad have been carried out in collaboration with a scientific committee of experts to ensure the historical rigour of the research. The technology of this intuitive device is accessible to visitors of all ages and technological abilities. Its narratives are presented in 13 languages and are complemented by a virtual treasure hunt for children and an integrated selfie studio.

 

The exhibition has already received more than 380,000 visitors worldwide – in cities such as Paris, London, Washington, Montreal and Dubai – and is being presented for the first time in Spain in co-production with CentroCentro. Notre-Dame de Paris. The augmented exhibition is produced by Histovery, in collaboration with the Public Entity in charge of the Conservation and Restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris and thanks to the exclusive sponsorship of L’Oréal.
