The silence of the spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Patxi López, to questions related to the conflict with the Argentine president, Javier Milei, has caused quite a surprise in the media of the Ibero-American country.
Although some of these media erroneously identify López as if he were the spokesperson for the Government, when in reality he is the spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Congress of Deputies, they all highlight that he does not respond when, at a press conference in the Lower House, a journalist asks him that if they demand respect from Milei, they will ask him for forgiveness for other insults to the Argentine president.
López refuses to answer the journalist, with whom he has already had other moments of tension on different occasions and, after remaining silent, suggests that he does not represent a media outlet, even though he is duly accredited in the Congress of the Deputies.
López’s attitude has caused very similar headlines in the digital editions of a good number of Argentine media, including La Nación and Clarín, emphasizing that he is left speechless.
