The Thyssen Museum in Madrid is presenting the exhibition Realistas de Madrid, from 9 February to 22 May dedicated to a historical and generational group of painters and sculptors who have lived and worked in Madrid since the fifties, connected by both the links of their training and their work, and their personal relationships and and families.

Although it was joined at times by other names, the group presented here comprises seven painters:  Antonio López García; his wife, María Moreno; the sculptors Julio López Hernández and his brother Francisco; Julio’s wife, the painter Esperanza Parada; Francisco’s wife, also a painter, Isabel Quintanilla, and Amalia Avia, married to the painter Lucio Muñoz.
