The Director of the Diplomatic School, Enrique Viguera, has incorporated in his team one of the Spanish diplomatics with most experience in Latin America to take on the responsibility specifically for Latin American affairs.
He is Francisco Javier Sandomingo who, until a short time ago, headed the European Delegation in Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras. Prior to that he was the Spanish Ambassador to Peru from 2008 to 2011, after having headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate-General for Latin America from 2004 to 2008. In addition, he served in diplomatic missions in Costa Rica, Mexico and Cuba among other postings, such as Ambassador to Zimbabwe.
