The number of international tourists that visited Spain in 2015 increased by 4.9% compared to that of 2014, reaching 68.1 million, according to data published yesterday by the Spanish Statistical Office (INE in its Spanish acronym). Just in December, Spain received 3.4 million international tourists (+7.6%), mainly from the United Kingdom, from where more than 21% of the total is.
The British are followed by the French and German. The main destination in December was the Canary Islands, where 29% of the tourists went, followed by Catalonia (23.2%) and Andalusia (14%).
