The Centro Sefarad-Israel and the Círculo de Bellas Artes are collaborating with a piano recital linked to International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is held every 27 January by a resolution of the United Nations Assembly. Darío Meta will be performing this homage which will take place at 19.30 hrs, in the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. Free admission. Limited seating.
The design of the programme is resolutely eclectic: some of the works included are related to the sinister destination of the victims, people who were murdered on religious grounds, their ethnic origin or their political ideology;some are inspired by the Holocaust (such as this first performance of Yom Hashoah) and others (such as the Ballades Op. 10 by Brahms) are artistic pieces of great beauty and transcendence; pieces that become in themselves and in this context, a homage to life and the lives of all the victims.
