The Diplomat
Nicolás Pascual de la Parte, who was Spain’s permanent representative to the Atlantic Alliance, will be on the PP list for the European Parliament elections on 9 June.
The diplomat will be in 21st place in a candidacy that will almost certainly be headed by Dolors Monserrat, in a position in which he will most likely be elected.
Pascual de la Parte was appointed ambassador to NATO in November 2017 and dismissed less than a year later, in September 2018, after the arrival of Pedro Sánchez to the government.
In August 2020 he was appointed ambassador-at-large for Hybrid Threats and Cybersecurity, a post he held until November last year, when he was dismissed after the current government was formed.
During his career, Pascual de la Parte has also been Ambassador representing Spain in the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union in Brussels.
