This evening at 7 p.m., Casa Árabe in Madrid presents the book Carthage: Literary Territory, coordinated by literary editor Dr. Ridha Mami.
In the words of Basilio Rodríguez Cañada, president of the Sial Pygmalion Publishing Group, “with Carthage: Literary Territory, the Sial Pygmalion Publishing Group continues the Literary Territories collection, which covers some of the most evocative places in geography and world literature, in a journey through time and space, which will be presented by renowned artists and creators, who will offer a different point of view to that contained in mere notebooks or travel guides.
Under the coordination of the Tunisian Hispanist, professor, writer, translator and poet Ridha Mami, some thirty excellent writers, poets, essayists, photographers and artists from a dozen countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Equatorial Guinea, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Tunisia, United States and Venezuela) and three continents (Europe, Africa and America) offer multiple and novel readings of the same geographical context turned into a background and literary theme: the ancient, historic and iconic city of Carthage, founded by the Phoenician princess Elisa Dido at the end of the 9th century BC. C., one of the great metropolis of the Mediterranean, Punic, Roman and Byzantine, which deserved to be declared a World Heritage Site.
The presentation ceremony will be attended by Irene Lozano, Director General of Casa Árabe, Fatma Omrani, Ambassador of Tunisia, and Basilio Rodríguez Cañada, President of Sial Pygmalion.
