The Diplomat
The German ambassador to Spain, Maria Margarete Gosse, said yesterday that the “bi-regional link” with Latin America can be “a channel of prosperity for this and future generations”.
Maria Margarete Gosse took part in a working breakfast with Ceapi members, led by its president, Nuria Vilanova, and also pointed out that Germany aspires “to establish bi-regional dialogue because cooperation is key to promoting democratic values and multi-lateralism”.
The ambassador also stressed the importance of continuing with the 2023-2025 roadmap, for which, she said, it is “essential to implement the European Union’s Global Gateway investment agenda and to work on the Mercosur-EU agreement”.
For her part, Núria Vilanova highlighted Germany’s historical relations with Latin America and its fundamental role in Europe “at a time,” she said, “when each actor must decide the future and where to position itself. In CEAPI,” he added, “we do so in the area of growth, in the area of collaboration to continue growing, institutional and business collaboration, between countries and continents”.
Vilanova affirmed that “Europe is indeed betting on Ibero-America because the future lies in the region’s leading participation in the global economy”.
