Casa América, in collaboration with the Embassies of Argentina and Costa Rica, presents in the Gabriela Mistral amphitheatre next Thursday at 7 p.m. the play La balada postfuturista de los moluscos (The Post-Futurist Ballad of Molluscs). Free admission until full capacity is reached.
Through the story of Alejandro, the play takes us on a journey transformed into a collage of scars, absences and ashes. And this is how, in the union between the invisible world of an ordinary person and the current world of mankind gone mad, the spectator encounters the dance of shelled molluscs, without shelter, while the world seems to be coming to an end…
This innovative staging is told in chapters and micro-scenes, underpinned by audiovisual elements, music, dance and a powerful message. It touches on such important issues as suicide, the mistreatment of women and violence in today’s world, not only between human beings but also with our environment.
The play is written by Bryan Vindas Villareal and directed by Paz Benedek, starring Carmen: Marta Cagigal, Epifanía: Maty Gómez, Dolores: Arianna Fortes and Alejandro: Pruden Rayo.
