For the second consecutive year and on the occasion of ARCOmadrid, the Instituto Francés of Madrid is exhibiting the work of the finalists of the 10th edition of the Révélations Emerige Grant, with the exhibition entitled Hit Again.
In 2014, the Emerige Révélations Grant was created with the aim of supporting young artists on the French scene, in collaboration with an internationally renowned French gallery (Nathalie Obadia in 2024). This unprecedented programme was born out of the conviction that young artists needed a springboard to make their work known. Because the question of professionalisation is also essential, a French gallery participates and accompanies the selected artist.
Each year, a call is published to select twelve artists to be exhibited in a group exhibition. The winner of the “Révélations Emerige” Scholarship receives a €15,000 grant to present their work in the partner gallery, as well as a workshop for one year.
This year, 2024, will mark the 10th edition of this pioneering programme, which has seen the birth of a whole generation of artists: 10 winners, 10 partner galleries and more than a hundred artists whose work has been presented to professionals and contemporary art lovers alike. In 10 years, many of these emerging artists have entered the collections of galleries and art lovers, and are now enjoying a lively artistic career.
Under the curatorship of Gaël Charbau, the 12 selected artists will present this group exhibition, an opportunity to highlight the young French scene on an international level, on the occasion of the week dedicated to contemporary art in the Spanish capital, an unmissable event on the European art scene. For Emerige, this initiative further strengthens the links between the Group and Spain, a country where it has been established for 10 years, particularly in Madrid.
For Mathilde Albouy, Ismaël Bazri, Jules Bourbon, Emilie Caie, Juliet Casella, Morgane Ely, Frederik Exner, Na Liu, Johanna Mirabel, Hugo Ruyant, Moïse Togo and Thaïs Zakï Tembo, the exhibition will be an important opportunity to share their work with a wide public.
