On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 11 March 2004, the Iranian Embassy in Spain has published a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account in which Ambassador Reza Zabib assures that “our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of that tragedy and their families”.
Zabib shows admiration for the “tireless efforts of the Spanish security forces in trying to prevent further terrorist attacks” and assures that “the nation becomes stronger” when it overcomes “hard times” such as 11M.
The ambassador stresses in the video that, “as the main victims of terrorism, Iranians have a real feeling for such a terrorist attack” and adds that “the Islamic Republic of Iran is proud of its pivotal role in defeating ISIS, which prevented more 11M in the region and in Europe“. “This would have been impossible without the command of the late General Qasem Soleimani, who”, he concludes, “was assassinated on the orders of Donald Trump”.
