Yesterday the Ministry of Defense hosted a meeting of the commanders of the State Military Border Guard of Ukraine, with the minister, Margarita Robles, and with representatives of the Spanish Defense industry.
According to the Ministry, the objective of the visit of this Ukrainian delegation (which was chaired by the second chief of the Military Guard, Lieutenant General Andriy Kucherenko) was to learn about the capabilities that the Spanish industry could contribute directly to the defense of Ukraine. To this end, the Ukrainian delegation held various meetings with representatives of different national companies.
In addition, the Ukrainian military met with Minister Robles, to whom they explained in detail the current situation on the ground and thanked the Spanish contribution, of which they highlighted its agility, its effectiveness and its ability to adapt to the most urgent needs. that they face.
For her part, Margarita Robles highlighted the relevance of this military unit, which has operated on the front lines in combat zones since the beginning of the Russian invasion, as well as its humanitarian work and assistance to the wounded, whom it frequently transports. from the front line to the Field Hospital donated by the Ministry of Defense, or to the civil hospitals in the rear. She was also interested in the support they provide to civilian residents in border areas.
Spanish aid to the State Guard, according to the Ministry, ranges from military material (armored vehicles for the protection of mobility) to light weapons, ammunition, the aforementioned field hospital and various ambulances and logistics vehicles. This aid is not limited only to material support, but also includes the training of personnel and the health field (through the training of medical personnel), care for the wounded in national territory and the offer of military flights for temporary shelter to orphans in resting places.
