Next Monday 4th March at 8 p.m., the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid (Gran Vía, 57) will be dressed in luxury to offer the concert organised by the Fundación Excelentia, entitled Concert tribute to Ennio Morricone and the 100 years of cinema.
Ennio Morricone was an Italian composer and conductor known for having composed the soundtracks for more than five hundred films and television series. He received an honorary Oscar in 2006 and won the Oscar for Best Score in 2016 for The Hateful Eight. In 2020, he was awarded the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts, shared with fellow composer John Williams.
The Royal Film Concert Orchestra, conducted by maestro Fernando Furones, will be in charge of performing unforgettable themes from the Italian master’s film soundtracks, as well as paying tribute to other pieces that have marked the history of cinema, such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, Death had a Price, The Lord of the Rings, Forrest Gump, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lawrence of Arabia, Out of Africa, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, The Godfather and The Great Escape.
