The Diplomat
The electoral calendar in Spain in 2024, starting with the imminent regional elections in Galicia, and their consequences for national politics was the subject of the second session of The Diplomat Club. Organised by Prestomedia and its newspaper, The Diplomat in Spain, the guest speaker was Gerardo Iracheta, president of the leading market and public opinion research company, Sigma Dos.
Moderated by the director of the European Observatory for the Analysis and Prevention of Disinformation, Asela Pintado, the session was attended by more than twenty ambassadors accredited in Spain, who were interested in the points of view and data that Iracheta provided based on the studies carried out by Sigma Dos.
The 3rd Session of the Diplomatic Club will take place next Wednesday 28th February at 7pm at the Dry Martini (Calle Ferraz, 2). On this occasion, the session will deal with Administrative Organisation in Spain: Autonomous Communities, and the speaker will be Joan Navarro Martínez, Spanish sociologist and political scientist, institutional advisor and specialist in political strategy, and true manager of the latest transfers from the State to the Autonomous Communities.
The Diplomatic Club, inaugurated on 13 December at the exclusive Dry Martini (Calle Ferraz, 2), organises two monthly sessions in which members of the government, politicians, businessmen, representatives of the world of culture and Spanish civil society participate. The ambassadors have the opportunity to maintain direct contact with them in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the media spotlight, as the meetings are held under the Chatham House rule.
The aim of the Diplomatic Club is to create and strengthen links between foreign embassies accredited in Spain and prominent economic, political and cultural actors.
