The Orquesta y el Coro Filarmonía and the more than 300 participating choristers, conducted by Maestro Pascual Osa, will perform Beethoven’ s Symphony No. 9 ‘Coral’ on 25 February at 19.30 at the Auditorio Nacional de Música on the 200th anniversary of its premiere.
During the first part, the Orquesta Filarmonía and the winner of the Intercentros Melómano 2019, Rolanda Ginkute, will delight with Tchaikovsky‘s Concerto for violin and orchestra. And in the second part the soloists Ana Lucrecia García, Manuela Mesa, Alain Damas and Enrique Sánchez-Ramos will be in charge of leading the voices in the masterful piece by the German master, a work that was declared a World Heritage Site in 2001. A revolutionary symphony for using not only percussion, but also the choir, for the first time in history.
Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra shows his incredible ability to combine technical brilliance with heartfelt emotion. Written in 1878, this concerto is an enchanting journey that explores the full range of the violin’s capabilities. From the opening notes, the violin weaves a web of intricate melodies, backed by a lush orchestral accompaniment.
