The Bloomsday Society will hold its monthly reading Nausica (episode XIII) of Ulysses in the Salón Ciudad de Úbeda of the Ateneo de Madrid (Calle del Prado, 21) this evening at 7pm.
On this occasion, the readers will be Kate Marriage, David Butler, Ophelia Leon, Elena Carcedo, Nieves Morán, Pilar Pastor and Lois Humphrey. Concha D’Olhaberriague will participate. Sara Cantó will present the event, and Andrea Rodríguez, violinist, will entertain the evening.
“Everyone is welcome,” says the Society, which is always looking for readers, singers and musicians interested in participating in the monthly readings and meetings that usually take place on the last Wednesday of each month. To attend, just email bloomsdaysociety@gmail.com. Particularly traditional is the annual reading of the play The Dead every 27 December. For the full programme of readings, please contact the Bloomsday Society directly.
The Bloomsday Society was founded on 16 June 2014 to disseminate the works of James Joyce and other Irish writers in English and Spanish. Among its activities, supported by the Irish Embassy, is the organisation of Bloomsday, since 2014, in Madrid.
