Spain has extradited to the United States Aaron Leib Kobisher, who was arrested in our country on June 21, 2023 and who has been accused of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.
Aaron Leib Kobisher, who has dual American and Mexican nationality, was detained after boarding a flight in Madrid that was headed to Mexico City (Mexico). After the flight left the gate, Spanish police stopped the plane and detained Kobisher based on an Interpol broadcast notice requested by the United States government.
Kobisher, alleged leader of a drug trafficking organization based in San Diego and Tijuana, was extradited to the United States last Monday, the 20th, and a day later appeared in federal court, according to the US Embassy in Madrid.
The Embassy collected information from the Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of California, indicating that, in publicly filed court documents, the charges refer to multiple seizures, including an interception in June 2021 of approximately two kilograms of powdered fentanyl linked to Kobisher and his drug trafficking organization.
The information adds that, after the analysis of the fentanyl by the Southwest Laboratory of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), researchers discovered that it was the most concentrated fentanyl powder analyzed to date by the laboratory.
