On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, tomorrow Thursday at 11 am, the British Embassy is holding the panel Women, Peace and Security Agenda: The Response of Activists, Organisations and Government to the Challenges of Russia’s War against Ukraine, organised in collaboration with the Embassies of Ukraine and the Netherlands.
During this meeting, participants will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the work carried out by activists, organisations and governments from Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom on the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. Specifically, the speakers will address the impact of the war on women and children in Ukraine, as well as the work they are carrying out to protect their human rights and the mechanisms necessary to ensure that justice is done.
Speakers will include representatives from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, the International Crimean Platform, the Ukrainian Regional Centre for Human Rights, the UK Foreign Office, UN Women Ukraine and the Ukrainian Lawyers’ Association ‘JurFem’.
The event will take place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes (Calle de Alcalá, 42) in the Sala Valle-Inclán (fifth floor) and simultaneous English-Spanish interpretation will be provided.
