Spain was re-elected yesterday, with 154 votes, member of the Executive Board of Unesco, the United Nations organisation for education, science and culture, for a four-year term. Spain has been a member of the Council since 2007.
In its account on the social network X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the election and stressed: “Our country renews its commitment to education, science and culture, hallmarks of external action”.
The Executive Board is the body that is responsible for the governance of UNESCO, draws up and approves its budget and prepares proposals for resolutions.
