The candidate of Juntos por el Cambio (Together for Change), Patricia Bullrich, was the most voted for among Argentines living in Spain who cast their vote in our country, in the first round of the elections held last Sunday in Argentina.

Some 110,000 Argentinians were called to the polls in Spanish territory, who cast their votes in one of the six Argentinean consulates in Spain: Madrid, Barcelona, Cádiz, Vigo, Mallorca and Tenerife, with very different results to those at national level.

Bullrich obtained 41% of the votes, according to data published by the newspaper ‘20minutos’, a result that contrasts with that recorded at national level, in which the centre-right candidate came third, with only 23.83% of the votes, This leaves her out of the second round on 19 November, which will be contested by the Peronist candidate and current Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa (36.68% of the votes in Argentina as a whole) and the liberal Javier Malei, of Libertad Avanza, (with 29.98% of the votes in the whole country).

Malei, who was the big favourite in the polls, was also the second most voted among Argentines living in Spain, where he obtained 36.74% of the votes cast, that is, a higher percentage.

By contrast, the big winner at the national level, Sergio Massa, only came third in Spain, with 22.5% of the votes, a far cry from the percentage he achieved in the country as a whole.
