Since October 6th, the Teatro Calderón in Madrid has been presenting the funny musical The Book of Mormon, which can be seen simultaneously in the 3 world capitals of musicals: Broadway, London and Madrid.
The plot of this musical seems very crazy and initially stars Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, two missionary namesakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – that’s what the Mormons call themselves – who are sent to a remote village in Uganda to introduce their faith to the natives. The purpose does not look easy on paper, but it will be even more complicated on the ground, as the Ugandans will prove to have more pressing priorities in their day-to-day lives than catering to young men in white shirts and ties, Bible under their arms. Naturally, they will be joined by a veritable squadron of Mormons to try and win over the locals. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
