The Umusic Hotel Teatro Albéniz has premiered the always acclaimed and eagerly awaited musical The Phantom of the Opera, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, composer of highly successful musicals such as Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Cats.
This production features a luxury cast headed by Gerónimo Rauch (Les Miserables, The Doctor), who gives life to the enigmatic Phantom, a role he has already had the opportunity to play in London’s West End. Talía del Val (Les Miserables, West Side Story), a well-known singer and actress in great Spanish musicals, plays the young diva Christine Daeé. The role of the handsome viscount Raoul Chagny is played by Guido Balzaretti and to complete the main cast, Carlota, the prima donna and star of the city’s opera, is played by the soprano Marta Pineda.
The story of The Phantom of the Opera uncovers a gripping tale of love, death and disaster between a musical genius who lives hiding from the world in the bowels of a theatre and Christine, a young woman with a heavenly voice who soon discovers the terror hidden beneath his mask.
