Acting State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Ángeles Moreno Bau, reiterated yesterday at the United Nations headquarters in New York Spain’s support for the Euro-Arab initiative to move towards the materialization of two Israeli and Palestinian states in the Middle East.
Moreno Bau pronounced these words during his intervention at the Ministerial meeting Peace Day Effort, dedicated to the situation in the Middle East. “We support the Euro-Arab initiative to move towards the materialization of the two State solution,” the Secretary of State declared via the social network X, formerly Twitter.
At the same meeting, the EU’s High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, warned that “the two-state solution needs a stronger effort”, because “if everybody that has been saying here today that they support the Two-State solution, if everybody was really engaged in supporting this Two-State solution, the solution would be there already”.
The meeting brought together, among others, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, Jordan, Ayman Safadi, and Saudi Arabia, Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, and the secretary general of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
