The average salary in Spain reached 1,822 euros per month in 2022, which is its “historical maximum”, according to a report by Adecco. However, it is still 20.9% lower than the average of the European Union countries, where it amounted to 2,302 euros per month, a difference of 480 euros per month in absolute terms.
Spain continues to be in an intermediate position among European countries: there are 15 whose average salaries are lower than Spain’s, while the remaining 11 countries have higher salaries than Spain’s, according to the “9th Annual Adecco Salary Monitor”.
The countries with the highest salaries are Luxembourg (3,713 euros), Denmark (3,573 euros), Germany (3,148 euros), Ireland (3,051 euros), Belgium (3,007 euros) and the Netherlands (2,964 euros), while the lowest are Bulgaria (650 euros), Romania (796 euros), Hungary (852 euros), Croatia (903 euros) and Poland (941 euros).
