The Economic and Cultural Office of Taipei in Spain announces the participation of the Taiwanese artist Sean Tseng as artist in residence at the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo CCA Andratx in Mallorca during the month of August.
Taking as a reference three central objectives, artistic experimentation, fieldwork and study visits, the artist Tseng proposes to link the natural environment of Mallorca with his process of research and artistic creation, taking advantage of the studio spaces offered by the centre to interact with the local community. His proposal will be materialised in the development of two specific projects: one focused on the creation of photographic works and the other on the production of spatial installations and sculptures that will be influenced by his own experience in the space and natural environment of the island.
Next Saturday the 19th at 11 a.m. there will be an open day organised by the CCA Andratx, in which art curators, gallery owners, collectors and residents of Mallorca will be able to participate in the Open Studio, in which Sean Tseng will share part of his research, his process of artistic experimentation and the influence that his time at the residency has had on his artistic practice and the production of his work. Admission is free until full capacity is reached at CCA Mallorca, Carrer S’estanyera, 2, 07150 Andratx, Balearic Islands, Spain.
